Tian Tian Xiang Shang at Novel Hall Lane

Commissioned by the Koo’s Foundation for Novel Hall, one of Taipei’s most significant performing arts venue and organization, Danny created a cast iron statue to commemorate the naming of “Novel Hall Lane” (新舞臺巷) by the Taipei government in recognition of the Hall’s contribution to Taiwan’s arts and culture.

 

The Tian Tian sculpture is intended to be an easily accessible piece for the general public of Taiwan. With the figure’s pensive but lovely posture, Danny hopes to create an ample space for imagination to bring out to the Taiwan public a sense of humour, which he believes is in much need of.
